Dyscalculia Workshop

If you have a child or work with children with additional needs or disabilities, and they have dyscalculia or you have concerns that they may have dyscalculia, join us for training with Sue Willis with act4send.

Dyscalculia is a learning disability in math. People with dyscalculia have trouble with math at many levels. They often struggle with key concepts like bigger vs. smaller. And they can have a hard time doing basic math problems and more abstract math.

Dyscalculia is a math learning disorder that makes mathematical reasoning and computation difficult.

Throughout this training, we will support you to identify and support your child with dyscalculia and will give practical advice on ways to support children with a variety of difficulties.

You will have the opportunity to try out some of the ideas and ask questions to address specific concerns.

The trainer, Sue Willis from Act4SEND, has a vast wealth of experience in the field of inclusion. She has worked as an Advisory Teacher since 2013. Previously she taught in schools for 14 years and was a Special Needs Co-ordinator for 8 years. Sue has studied Specific Learning Difficulties through a Postgraduate Diploma and is a qualified dyslexia and dyscalculia assessor. She also has experience of tutoring as a dyslexia specialist teacher.

Refreshments will be available at the training.

North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together are incredibly excited to extend our training offer with more diverse topics to benefit you and your families.
