Supporting your young person with dyscalculia and other maths difficulties

This workshop will examine the features of maths that may present difficulties for children with dyscalculia. It will explore ways you can support your child’s learning of maths and make it fun, including how to learn number bonds and timetables.

The trainer, Sue Willis from Act4SEND, has a vast wealth of experience in the field of inclusion. She has worked as an Advisory Teacher since 2013. Previously she taught in schools for 14 years and was a Special Needs Co-ordinator for 8 years. Sue has studied Specific Learning Difficulties through a Postgraduate Diploma and is a qualified dyslexia and dyscalculia assessor. She also has experience of tutoring as a dyslexia specialist teacher.

This Free training workshop is for residents of North Somerset and priority will be given to parent carers of children/young people with additional needs and disabilities. Professionals working with children and young families in North Somerset are also welcome to attend.
