Transitions Coffee

NSPCWT Coffee-Transitions Coffee

Feel free to drop in 😊

Join us for a coffee morning and share your views with us on your experience supporting your child with transitions. For example, moving from Primary school to Secondary school and Secondary school to Post 16.

We are North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together (NSPCWT) and are here to ensure the collective parent carer voice is heard. We also signpost to relevant organisations and listen to your experiences. We run regular coffee mornings, training sessions and events plus we recently organised free wellbeing days out to enjoy.

⭐We will have Ruth Lewis - Parent Carer Liaison Officer for North Somerset Council SEND Department joining us.

⭐Plus Enhanced Provision: ‘Some children and young people with autism social communication needs will need intense and direct support. This is when the Enhanced Provision Team can become involved’. - https://nsod.n-somerset.gov.uk/kb5/northsomerset/directory/service.page?id=t12uAYrlxKw

⭐We will also be joined by SEND and You - SAY, they are the SENDIAS (Special Educational Needs & Disability Information, Advice and Support) service and can offer help with all kinds of SEND issues at every stage of your child’s education, including SEN support at school, exclusions, Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP's), complaints and appeals. This is a good chance to ask any questions face to face with supportive advice from SAY!

⭐Plus Hayley Turner, SEND Transition Advisor from North Somerset Council, will be with us: 'My role is to support young people aged between 16 and 24 to reintegrate and transition back into education following a period away, where a placement may have broken down and they may have become NEET. Additionally, I do closely monitor year 11's who would be at risk of becoming NEET in year 12 and working with providers to minimise the risk.'

⭐Also we have Burley Inclusive coming along. They are an alternative post-16 SEND provision based in North Somerset and Bristol - https://www.burleyinclusive.co.uk/

⭐And….. we have Network Learning Pathways ready to chat. They offer nurturing and person-led learning programmes and pathways to next education setting and adulthood - https://www.facebook.com/networklearningpathways
