We did
An Education Health Care Portal was purchased. This went live on the 21 September – See local offer www.n-somerset.gov.uk/ehcp. This contains a link to the online portal. The Portal will allow families to submit EHC (Education Health Care ) requests and to track the progress of their request. Once an EHC plan is issued parents will be able to see the EHC plan and advice by just logging in. This will help with communication with families as they will be able to look up information whenever they want.
The introduction of the Portal will help with timescales as we will be able to track clearly the process and follow up any issues with, communicating with professionals so that the advice is received on time.
The contract with Somerset Council ,which provides the Educational Psychology, service has been reviewed with the aim to identify any additional time, which could be allocated to the EHCP process. Our intention is to try and increase the number of “advices” available each month from the educational psychologists in order to meet the increase in the EHC request numbers.
