Therapies: Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy

You Said:

The length of waiting time to receive support is too long

We Did:

·         A new leadership structure is in place for Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.  Work is underway to harmonise the clinical pathways and support offers for children and families across BNSSG.  It is recognised that North Somerset Therapy Services need more staff, and Sirona are working in partnership with the CCG to address this.

·         A Waiting List Initiative has started.  A cohort of children who have been seen for an initial appointment, and who are waiting for therapy/intervention, will be seen as part of this initiative.  This includes:  families referred for a Sensory Talk and children and young people waiting for a block of speech therapy.  The imitative will reduce the time children and families are waiting for intervention from a therapist.
