We often hear from Parent Carers who would like to learn more about Autism whilst they await an assessment/diagnosis. Or maybe your child has emerging needs and you'd just like to find out a bit more about Autism.
For this project, the BNSSG Parent Carer Forums have joined together to provide and host a range of online and face-to-face workshops. To attend this workshop, you MUST live in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
We would like to invite parent carers and their families to join us with Nickie Sutton for training on Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Sleep.
For parents, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) can make bedtime and sleep a very anxiety provoking time of day. Normal strategies often don’t work. Join Nickie Sutton, experienced sleep practitioner and trainer, for a session which looks at how PDA affects sleep and effective strategies to help.
This session is specially written for parents of children with additional needs / disabilities and is interactive so that your specific questions and needs are answered.
Nickie Sutton has been a sleep practitioner for 6 years and developed the successful and effective sleep courses for Space4Autism which have been running for over 3 years. Prior to this Nickie was a nurse for 34 years, most recently working as a Specialist Community Public Health School Nurse, and ADHD Nurse Specialist. She is currently one of small team of experienced sleep practitioners running the National Sleep Helpline.
